Suspected Muslim Terrorist Right Here

The events of Fort Hood and the sudden rise to the surface Islamophobics has brought me to the surface as well. The past few days I did not blog because I was spending some of my blogging time on a local newspaper website shutting down people who want to believe Islam is the root of evil and therefore terrorism. Some of them wanted to debate the Qur’an with me, selecting individual passages out that “prove” Islam is a violent religion. All of their sources and quotes come straight from a selection of Anti-Islam websites that I have already seen before. It was not worth my time to explain to them why they were incorrect so I ignored the passage quoting despite their repeated insistence. After running them into circles where the only argument they seemed to be able to have is those passages and the idea that Muslims are killing all over the world, despite the fact that they do not acknowledge their own flaws within the argument, so it started to become a pointless debate.

So, of course, me being a troublemaker (I really should stop doing this.. but it’s so much fun..lol ) I took some of my old posts, edited them slightly and posted them on the site. One of the ones I wrote back on September 11th of this year and that just pissed him off and he became Rep. Joe Wilson typing “YOU LIE!” so I can tell I got under his sleeve a little. It really pissed him off that I didn’t allow free posting on my blog and so he proceeded to call me a coward and then took his comments and posted his own blog with the following introduction:

ThespianDuckie, a new anti-American screen name here on these pages has posted his vile treasonous venom here: http://link to where my blog was…

I strongly suspect this guy is a muslim terrorist, or at the very least, a muslim who sympathizes with the terrorists. His arguments, like we are to blame for 9/11, are utterly ridiculous and come straight from the AQ playbook.

Like a typical gutless anti-American coward, he has turned screening on for his blog. What follows is my response to his treason — because I doubt very seriously that he will allow it to be posted.

I ended up taking his posting and breaking it apart piece by piece. This guy thinks the Patriot Act is a good thing & it is “better them than us” in reference to killing Taliban/Afghani people.

He ended his rant responding to my statement: “Do not place a higher value on one US Citizen compared to an Iraqi or Afghanistan citizen.” With the following:

What kind of anti-American piece of crap are you? YOU D@MN WELL BETTER BELIEVE AN AMERICAN LIFE IS WORTH MORE THAN ANY CITIZEN OF ANY OTHER COUNTRY. YOU be a citizen of the world, traitor, *I* am an AMERICAN.

This is a typical “I’m an American, I’m better than everyone” mentality and it needs to end. I’m glad we have success, I’m glad we have freedom and I’m glad we want to share it with the world, but to say the American life is worth more than any other person on this world is the whole reason we are in this mess. A long time ago, the United States was the leader in freedom & innovative thought. Now, we are the leader in corruption of wealth, breaking of treaties and violations of laws. Since 9/11, we have broken numerous international laws, blocked Israel from facing war crimes, invaded sovereign nations and are threatening another. We sit and complain about our health care being too expensive and then watch as half of our tax dollars go to fund wars that are only increasing the chance of terrorism not stopping them.

I left him a comment on his blog post after all of that stating that I did post his comments, including a response that said the reason I do not let them post automatically is because I do not trust a radical like him to post something without it causing harm to people I support. If it was not a statement like that, it would be posted with a response from me.

I also said the following:

I am an American who questions the government – a dissident. If this makes me worthy of the names you call, so be it. I still love my country, whether you agree with me or not. In addition, my faith has nothing to do with my stance. I have not indicated whether I am Christian, Muslim, Jewish or Atheist. You can put me into any group you wish, it doesn’t change the fact that as an American Citizen, it is my duty to question everything my government does in my name.

If this makes me hated, so be it. But at least I know I have done something to end the illegal occupation of nations in my name, the murder of innocent women, men and children. At least I have spoken up to end the suffering of people.

I do not support the wars, the people who are fighting in them and the people who are hired to protect them. I do not wish harm on our soldiers and demand that we bring them home.

Earlier this past week, the UN-Human Rights Council passed a resolution that endorsed the findings of Richard Goldstone’s report on Israel’s Operation Cast Lead (Gaza War 2009). The report calls for both Israel & Hamas to conduct internal investigations into whether anyone committed war crimes and to hold credible trials when the investigation turns up facts related to war crimes.

To give a bit of background information on Richard Goldstone, I’d like to point out that he is Jewish & is described by family members to be a Zionist. He was also a prosecutor of South African war crimes. His report was rather harsh on Israel – some say he was not harsh enough.

What I am disgusted about is that the United States again shows that they are bias in their stance on Israel because they voted against this resolution. How can we expect to be a mediator in a peace process when we will so blatantly show our bias towards one side of this long heated conflict.

The United States is also guilty of ignoring it’s responsibility to investigate it’s own violations of War Crimes in relation to torture.

This is just more evidence that Israel & the United States think they can do what ever they want in the world & to people and get away with it.

palestinian children look at militantsWe have become a nation that does not care. We sit back and “ho hum” as our troops continue to fight a war we should never have been in & another we have no plan for. We continue to pay for contractors who spend their time raping women, providing sub-par electrical work, drinking & partying naked and murdering innocent people. We “want to move forward” and forget that we TORTURED people. We continue to turn a blind eye at Gitmo Bay & believe that our government really intends to end illegal detention. We continue to allow our government search & seizure of property with a “secret” warrant from a “secret” court or sometimes not even a warrant if it’s related to “national security.” We pay more attention (3 hours) to a balloon that might be carrying a 6 year old boy than we do to the millions of children who are struggling just to find food or water. We care more about Megan McCain’s cleavage picture than we do about the pictures of children who have been burned by white phosphorous in Gaza.

WAKE UP!

Anyway, I wanted to highlight part of my disgust by the United States’ vote on this resolution by posting the full text of the statement from the High Commissioner (Navanethem Pillay) for the UN-HRC in regards to this report:

15 October 2009
Mr. President,
Distinguished Members of the Human Rights Council,
Excellencies,
Ladies and Gentlemen,

The human rights situation in the occupied Palestinian territory (the OPT) remains of grave concern. There is strong evidence indicating that all parties to the conflict—in different ways and with different effects—have committed and continue to commit serious violations of international human rights and humanitarian law. Many of these violations have been documented in my report to your last regular session, which I also submit today for your consideration.

Allow me to discuss two issues that require all our attention, namely the situation in East Jerusalem and the continuing blockade of Gaza.

In the past weeks, there have been numerous clashes in and around the Al Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem. The stringent restrictions imposed by Israel on Palestinians wishing to enter this Mosque must be lifted in order for members of the Palestinian community to exercise their right to worship.

In East Jerusalem home demolitions continue. My Office has called for an immediate halt to the recent wave of eviction orders and demolitions of Palestinian houses in the occupied territory. OHCHR views these practices as violations of both international humanitarian law and of the International Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights. Despite condemnation expressed by the international community, the tragedy of losing their homes continues to be inflicted on many Palestinian families.

Excellencies,

Turning now to the situation in Gaza, I wish to express once again my dismay at the continuing blockade that severely undermines the rights and welfare of the population there. The living conditions of Gazans keep deteriorating as a result of restrictions on the import of services and goods, including basic food and fuel supplies. The blockade prevents the delivery of essential building materials and thus hampers the reconstruction of homes and infrastructure destroyed during Israeli military attacks in December 2008 and January 2009. It constitutes collective punishment of the Gaza population, in violation of international law. It must be lifted. Israel must allow the free movement of goods and people into and out of Gaza and between Gaza and the West Bank.

A culture of impunity continues to prevail in the occupied territories and in Israel in relation to violations of international humanitarian law and international human rights law. I have pointed this out in my report to this Council. The United Nations Fact Finding Mission on the Gaza Conflict, led by Justice Goldstone, made a similar assessment.

Let me take this opportunity to reiterate my support for the recommendations of the Fact Finding Mission, including its call for urgent action to counter impunity. I encourage the Council and the broader international community to give full consideration to the Fact Finding Mission’s report. I also wish to underscore the necessity for all parties to carry out impartial, independent, prompt, and effective investigations into reported violations of human rights and humanitarian law in compliance with international standards.

For those in detention, the widespread recourse to military justice systems, which do not meet international standards of due process, remains of grave concern. Due process and the rights of those in any form of detention must be respected at all times.

Mr. President,

Accountability for breaches of international humanitarian law and for human rights violations, as well as respect for human rights, are not obstacles to peace, but rather the preconditions on which trust and, ultimately, a durable peace can be built.

The reactions from victims and concerned people and organizations to the postponement by this Council of its deliberations are compelling evidence that addressing impunity for human rights and international humanitarian law violations is essential to preventing further violence and shoring up the peace process. I encourage all Members to have a constructive role in supporting accountability for serious violations.

In seeking a political solution to the decades-long conflict, the international community must anchor its efforts in international law, in particular international human rights and humanitarian law.

To conclude, all human rights are equal for all human beings, and no party can claim that, in defending or supporting its own population, it is allowed to disavow the rights of others. All parties have an obligation to respect the human rights of their own people, of their own neighbours, of all.

Let me reiterate that respect for human rights is an imperative in building a solid foundation for both justice and peace. I hope you will emphasize this basic principle in your deliberations.

Thank you.

The time to act is now. How many more people must die before you speak out against your government’s stance on Human Dignity.

How long will it take for you to stop supporting companies that support oppressive governments like Israel?

Why do you stand back and watch as your government takes away your own civil liberties in the name of National Security.

A silent voice is no voice at all – you might as well die now. Stand up and shout for the rights that every human deserves. Stand up.

Civil Unrest in Iran

Posted: June 13th, 2009 | Author: Moonstar Silverwolf | Filed under: Iran | Tags: , , , , , , , , | View Comments

There is a time in nearly every country’s history when the citizens revolt against the government. Sometimes it happens peacefully, but that is rare. In the United States, we have had multiple examples of this, but one of the most notable ones was during the 1950s-60s dealing with civil rights for blacks.

slide_1753_23622_large Iran is possibly facing this same challenge at the moment and how the government handles the civil unrest may determine how their future is run or how they are viewed around the world.

Will they allow the civil dissent to occur? This would be a change from their past when dissenters were frequently arrested and media was silenced. Any progress towards a more free society when dissenting opinion should be welcomed by the international world, even if the election stands as is.

Or will they squash the dissent, arrest those who lead the protests & riots, including the opposition leaders who were running in the election? This brings to mind events surrounding Tiananmen Square in 1989 when the Chinese Government decided that the solution to dissent was to lock down further, silencing all who disagree with the government stance. This is now leading towards a country that is seen as oppressive, who routinely censors media & internet resources.

Will Iran choose to lock down further than they already are? Evidence is showing that this indeed the choice they are making as reports have shown a lock down of twitter, facebook, youtube and other internet sites as well as shutting down phone & cell phone, searching for satellites & treating outside journalists as though they are part of the protests. It has even been reported that they will even shut down electricity in order to block information from getting out or in.

In any case, I have a feeling this may be the beginning of a slight change in Iran that will likely lead to one of two things – a less restrictive society or more realistically, a more restrive one. And, if history gives any indication – a government that has lost the respect of some of the educated youth, will likely lose these bright minds to another country. This happened with Germany during WWII that led to the US receiving most of the German Scientists and educators that worked on the Manhattan project towards creating nuclear bombs. Iran would be stupid to allow the country to go so far down that the smartest and brightest fled the country en mass for freedom of information that was no longer available.

As I posted on facebook with another story, no mater what happens as the result of this election, the fall out will be very interesting to see. I hope the youth in the country realize what is about to happen as they are protesting as they are a driving force that may cause the country to become further locked down or more free.

Last thing – US media is a huge disappointment in the coverage of this – yet another reason I have chosen to abandon all of them for general world news. MSNBC & CNN are okay for domestic US news, but they lack credible coverage really for world news. The lone exceptions may be Rachel Maddow and Richard Engel. (Fox News is a joke, that’s why I call them “F’News” AKA “Fuck the News”
